Elizabeth Cogley teaching resignation on Monday's school board agenda

Bluffton school board will act on a host of contracts at its July meeting on Monday.

In addition one teacher resignation will be acted up on.

Elizabeth Cogley, high school teacher and senior class advisor, has announced her resignation.

One certified employee contract will be acted upon for Emily Kriegel. Her’s will be a one-year contract and if hired she will enter the system as a master’s step 2 and will be offered a salary of $39,966.

Bluffton's north water tower renovation project starts soon

Interior paint renovation on the north Bluffton water tower (Snider Road) will begin next week.

According to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator, the tower whille be out of service for four to five weeks to allow for adequate coating curing time.

The water tower project is one item in the administrator's report to Bluffton council on Monday evening.

During the meeting council will receive an update on a drainage project.

Weldon Geiger was a lifelong farmer

Weldon C. Geiger, 85, died July 16, 2016, at 11:40 a.m. at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.  Weldon was born March 6, 1931, in Bluffton to the late Pearl and Burdella (Amstutz) Geiger.  On Feb. 24, 1953 he married Marcine Welty Geiger who preceded him in death on Dec. 21, 2015.
