Eric Faulkner promoted at Citizens National Bank

Eric Faulkner was recently promoted to senior vice president, business banking officer, at Citizens National Bank.

In this position, he is responsible for running the bank’s loan participation program as well as building and maintaining a commercial and agricultural loan portfolio in the Columbus and Springfield markets.

Faulkner received his Bachelor of Science in marketing as well as his Master of Business Administration from Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia.

What about thoses whites marks on the road?

You've seen the white markings on Main and other streets in town. What are they? Look closely. You'll see and "number" followed by "description" followed by "RTR arrow." Translation: It's directions for bikers in the Saturday, July 16, Ride to Remember. The number represents the route in miles, the description represents the name of the route and the RTR means Ride to Remember. So, in this photo, the 10-mile Fun Loop turns onto East College Avenue and to points beyond.

Bluffton Sardines enjoy WOAL meet ever - finish 4th of 8 teams

Bluffton Sardine swim team finished fourth of eight teams in this past weekend’s Western Ohio Aquatic League meet held at Bluffton. In the girls’ standings, Bluffton finished sixth overall. In the boys’ standings Bluffton finished fourth overall.

It was Bluffton’s best-ever finish in a WOAL meet, which is dominated by teams from communities larger than Bluffton.

Three Bluffton seniors swam in their final meet. They are Cobie Mikesell, Misha Groman and Sierra Osborne.

The zoo returns to the library Wednesday with more animals an a lively program

If you thought the armadillo from the Toledo Zoo was pretty neat, then you've love the zoo's next visit to the Bluffton Public Library.

It's at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13. The topic is "animal classification." The free program for Kindergarten through fifth gradeers and prior registration is necessary due to space limitations.

Children under 8 should be accompanied by an adult. The program is in the Richland Room on the library's lower level.

Jonah Agner creates vegetarian menu for Ada restaurant

FROM THE ADA ICON - The Cask Room, 127 S. Main St., Ada, now serves lunch and dinner…but it’s not just any old menu. It’s a menu you’d have to drive to Toledo or Columbus to match. And, it has an interesting Bluffton connection.

Bluffton High School grad, Jonah Agner, co-owner and chef, has created a very affordable entirely vegetarian menu. After looking it over, you’d never think to ask, “Where’s the meat?”

It changes daily

There's a new mural going up in town - but, you've already noticed it. Locationed on the former Groves' Bear building, it will show the history of Bluffton as a diarama, from right to left. Sarah Hartzler, Bath High School art teacher, and several of her students are creating the mural. It's at the corner of Main and Elm.
