Wilma E. “Willie” Abbott 1931 - 2016

Wilma E. “Willie” Abbott, 84, of Findlay, died at 12:50 a.m. March 9, 2016, at Birchaven Village, Findlay.

Wilma was born March 13, 1931, in Columbus Grove to the late Clyde and Ina Foster Benroth.  On Sept. 1, 1949, she married Kenneth Abbott and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1998.

Wilma was a homemaker.  She was a member of Pandora United Methodist Church and a member of the former Asi No Mas Club, Pandora.  She loved traveling, flowers and dancing.

The Hardin County Herb Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16. The meeting includes a carry-in meal. It is the first meeting of the year and playce place at Amherst Greenhouse, 644 County Road 126, Harrod.

Columbus Grove HS presents "Bye Bye Birdie" March 18-19

Columbus Grove High School Chorus Department presents "Bye Bye Birdie" a musical comedy. The musical will be performed in the Columbus Grove school
auditorium at 7 p.m., Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19.
 
Tickets are now available in the High School office.

Baseball rallies for 5-4 win over Moravian

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - A three-run eighth and an inning-ending double play propelled Bluffton University to a 5-4 victory over Moravian College on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. The Beavers took advantage of three straight walks in the eighth in improving to 2-3 on the season. Moravian dropped to 4-4 following the loss.

Ruth I. Seem 1938 - 2016

Ruth I. Seem, 79, of Bluffton died March 6, 2016, at 6 a.m. at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. 

Ruth was born May 19, 1938, in Fostoria to the late Robert and Wilda Criswell Hottenstein.  On Oct. 27, 1953, she married Gerald D. Seem who preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 2014.

Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of Gospel Fellowship Church, Rawson. She enjoyed reading and cross stitching.

Della Thompson was a 1974 Ada High School graduate

Della A. Thompson, 61, of Ada died at 11:47 a.m., March 5, 2016, at Bridge Hospice, Findlay.  Della was born March 10, 1954, in Kenton to Newt and Evelyn Smith Thompson and they preceded her in death. 

Della worked in the cafeteria at Ohio Northern University.  She was a member of Riley Creek Baptist Church, Bluffton, where she was active in the Ladies Bible Study and helped in the nursery.  She loved to read the Bible.  Della was a 1974 graduate of Ada High School.
