Practice starts Tuesday

Mike Hilty, Bluffton High School boys' tennis coach, wants to have the Howe Tennis Courts ready for the season-opening practice tomorrow. The only thing in the way is something called snow.

This Bluffton High School team is headed to regional competition

The Bluffton HS Academic team took first place out of 15 teams at the Wright State University Scholastic Bowl on Friday, March 6.

The win qualifies the team to compete in the Ohio Academic Competition Regional Tournament in April. Team members from left, Alton Burkholder, Christopher Harnish, Katie Scott, Elizabeth Nisly, Noah Woodruff and Brice Metzger.

Kevin Every named HCAC Pitcher of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University flame thrower Kevin Every (Zanesville/West Muskingum) was a force on the hill during a 4-4 trip to Florida and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week. 

The sophomore tossed a complete game in his first career start, allowing three hits and only one unearned run with nine strikeouts in a 24-1 complete-game victory over Finlandia. Every came back two days later, throwing a shutout inning of relief in a 7-2 win over Alvernia. 

Shell named HCAC Pitcher of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior Chloe Shell (Covington) capped a great opening week in Florida by being named the Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Week after leading the Beavers to a solid 7-3 start. It marks the third consecutive year that Shell has been named Player of the Week for her work in the Sunshine State!

Pastor to address Sabbath in Spiritual Life Week forum March 17

A California pastor will address the importance of Sabbath in Bluffton University’s Spiritual Life Week forum on Tuesday, March 17.

Justin McRoberts, from Shelter Covenant Church in Concord, Calif., will speak about “Sabbath—The Still and Isolated Road to Active Unity in Christ” during the 11 a.m. forum in Bluffton’s Founders Hall. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Camerata Singers present home concert March 15

Bluffton University’s Camerata Singers, back from a spring-break tour in seven Midwestern states, will reprise the tour program, “Sing Ye Praises with understanding,” in the annual Camerata Home Concert on Sunday, March 15. The concert, beginning at 2:30 p.m. in Yoder Recital Hall, is free and open to the public.
