Jerry Snodgrass student-athletics awards forum speaker

Bluffton University will recognize its top student-athletes at the annual Athletics Awards Forum at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, in Yoder Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Three awards will be presented. Bluffton’s top senior male athlete will receive the A.C. Burcky Award, while the top senior female athlete will receive the Kathryn E. Little Award.

The Larry Jones Award will be given to a non-athlete (student, faculty/staff member or citizen) in recognition of interest, support and significant contributions to Bluffton University Athletics.

While discussing a life-altering event that took place in high school, Jerry Snodgrass, director of sport management for the Ohio High School Athletic Association, will give a presentation titled, “Taking Risks to Reach Your Potential.” He will emphasize the need for leaders to take risks, regardless of the field students choose to enter.

Prior to joining the Ohio High School Athletic Association, Snodgrass had a 31-year career in education as a teacher, coach and administrator. He also served as an announcer and color analyst for WTLW-TV in Lima and Buckeye Cable Sports Network in Toledo.
