Leading 3-1 in the top of the sixth, Katie Prater belted a three run double to blow open the game and Bluffton went on to defeat Allen East 6-2 Thursday evening under sunny skies.
Prater picked up three hits on the night including two doubles and she knocked in a total of four runs. It was the second straight conference win for Bluffton who is now 8-4 overall and 3-3 in NWC play.
The Pirates outhit the Mustangs 8-3. Averey Rumer added a hit and two runs and Madison Fleece knocked a base hit with a run scored.
Libby Schaadt improved to 8-4 as the starting pitcher. The sophomore curtailed AE to just 3 hits in 7 innings of work. 10 Allen East players struck out in the loss.
