Bluffton Fall Festival planned Sept. 28

It's not fall yet, but plans are underway for the 10th annual Bluffton Fall Festival planned on Saturday, Sept. 28.

JJ Heller, Christian recording artist performs Sept. 1 at Pandora Missionary Church

Christian recording artist, JJ Heller, will be performing live in concert at Pandora Missionary Church Sunday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. VIP Passes for a meet and greet with the artist, photos, autographs, and refreshments are an additional $5.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing someone of this caliber to the area,” said Joanna Gratz, member of the Fellowship Board at Pandora Missionary Church.

Tickets available for YFC Campus Life chicken barbecue Aug. 23

The Bluffton/Pandora Youth for Christ Campus Life will hold a chicken barbecue from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, prior to the Bluffton vs. Pandora-Gilboa football scrimmage. The barbecue is at the Arthur-Lugibihl Community Center in Pandora.

Tickets are $7 and includes chicken, green beans, potato and roll.

Richland Manor nurse hosts yearly picnic for former and current residents

Richland Manor has always been known for having big-hearted staff members.The staff seems to always go above and beyond to help residents feel more at home.

One staff member, Flo, who is a Richland Manor nurse, goes to great lengths for the past 10 years by hosting a picnic at her home for current and former residents and their family members.

On June 11, she hosted her annual event and over 30 residents attended. Flo and many volunteers from Richland Manor made the picnic special for the guests by making spectacular dishes and desserts.

Pandora's Riley Creek Festival Friday evening - lot's of family-oriented activities

How do you get to Pandora from Bluffton? We need the quickest route so we can attend the 2013 Riley Creek Festival on Friday evening, Aug. 9.

The event include lots of family-oriented activities. These include an antique machinery display on Main Street, a farmers' market in the alley by Riley Creek Pharmacy, a raffle for NASCAR tickets and a YMCA kids' zone in the grass area off the town parking lot.

Other events includes free kids' carnival games in the United Methodist Church lawn, P-G band and P-G cheerleaders performing at the fire station at 6 p.m.

Continuing a look at yearbook advertisements, here's one from the 1926 Bluffton College Ista. At Siefield's Bakery you could buy sandwich bread. The bakery was located in what is today The Food Store on South Main Street. The owner was Herb Siefield.
