Larry Core, former Bluffton village administrator, is the 2019 Bluffton Lions Club Citizen of the Year.
And, in this usual year of covid-19, he received his award delayed. Don Hostetler presented Core with the award last week.
Core, a life-long Bluffton resident and Bluffton High School graduate, has served in several community project and organizations, both behind the scene and as a major player.
Perhaps his greatest village accomplishment was his untiring devotion to bringing DTR (today SumiRiko Ohio) to the village.

If you path in and out of Bluffton is Columbus Grove Road, there will need to be changes made soon. The Allen County Engineers will close the bridge for repairs for six weeks beginning Tuesday, Dec. 1. During the annual bridge inspection the county discovered some things under the bridge that need repaired. It should be noted that the bridge carries a 5-ton limit, meaning that many semi-trailers should avoid the bridge.

The 34th annual Blaze of Lights will put a new spin on Bluffton traditions.
The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce and village Cultural Affairs Committee have updated celebrations to include a video Town Crier presentation, caravan tour of holiday lights, and a free drive-in movie. Dan Bowden is this year's switch hitter who will turn on the holiday lights.
"You can't stop Christmas from coming" is the 2020 Blaze of Lights theme, notes Paula Scott, the chamber CEO: "We are very excited about our modified events, which are designed to help keep families and friends safe."
