Activities for all ages over the next 60 days

Here are the events planned at the Bluffton Public Library for June and July.

Adults:
On June 18 at 10 a.m., adults are encouraged to attend Living with Hypertension.  Come find out how to best live with and manage hypertension.  Dr. Leah Eiden of Bluffton Primary Care will present information on the topic and there will be time for questions and discussion afterwards.

5K Run/Walk for Literacy on June 22

Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn Co. and Friends of the Bluffton Public Library are hosting a 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 22. Registration starts at 8 a.m., with race beginning at 9 a.m.

Both adults and youth are encouraged to participate. The race will start and finish on College Avenue in front of Bluffton High School.

Trophies will be awarded for overall top male and female finishers.  Medallions will be awarded for the top male and female in each age division. Age divisions are: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-65, 66 and over.

Bluffton Public Library kicks off the 2019 Summer Program with annual Library Fun Day

Visiting the library on June 3rd is sure to be fun!

Bluffton Public Library is pleased to announce its “Universe of Stories” Summer Program with reading challenges, programs and events, weekly incentive prizes, and grand prize drawings for all age groups. Each year the library’s mission is to encourage people of all ages to continue to read, gather, and learn throughout every stage of their lives.  

Register by May 11 for Benefits of Massage Therapy at Bluffton Public Library

Benefits of Massage Therapy presented by Kelly Griffin and Becky McIntosh of Beyond MedSpa, Blanchard Valley Health System, is at 6 p.m. onThursday, May 16, on the lower level of the library.

Please call or stop by the library to register by May 11.

This program is part of a Health Education Series presented by Blanchard Valley Health System's Speakers' Bureau and hosted by Bluffton Public Library.

Backyard Habitats presentation by Beth Theisen, Naturalist

Backyard Habitats: Beth Theisen, a Naturalist from Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District, will present on the main floor of the library on Tues., May 7 at 6:30 p.m. This presentation is open to the public and is hosted by The Gardeners of the Bluffton/Pandora Area. No registration is required.

May's discussion group book at the library

"The Heart's Invisible Furies" by John Boyne

Bluffton Public Library's monthly adult book discussion group will be discussing "The Heart's Invisible Furies" by John Boyne at their upcoming May 1 meeting. 

The book discussion is at noon, Wednesday, May 1, in the library. The monthly discussion group is open to new members and registration is suggested. The group meets the first Wednesday of every month, and occasionally has the author visit via Skype.
