Rundown of events for May

Mark your calendars for these upcoming one-off or special events at the library in May:

May the 4th Be With You; the library will be celebrating Star Wars Day on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4. There will be Star Wars-themed activities in the children’s area both days.

April 25 Friends of the Library tea features talk by Fred Steiner

Tickets are $12 and are available at the library

Fred Steiner, Icon editor, is the featured speaker at the Thursday, April 25, spring tea sponsored by the Friends of the Bluffton Library.

The tea is at 5:45 p.m. and tickets are $12 each and must  be purchased in advance. The tea is at the library, 145 S. Main St., Bluffton, where tickets are available.

Bluffton library announces new mobile library app

New, intuitive mobile app available to Bluffton Public Library patrons

Bluffton Public Library  debuts The SEO Libraries App, the new intuitive mobile app available to Bluffton Public Library patrons and all patrons of the SEO library consortium.

Available for all iOS and Android devices, this app brings several key library functions to patrons’ fingertips.

Benefits of Massage Therapy presentation at Bluffton Public Library

Benefits of Massage Therapy presented by Kelly Griffin and Becky McIntosh of Beyond MedSpa, Blanchard Valley Health System is at 6 p.m. on April 9 on the lower level of the library.

This program is part of a Health Education Series presented by Blanchard Valley Health System's Speakers' Bureau and hosted by Bluffton Public Library.

Please register by April 4 by visiting the front desk of the library or calling the library at 419-358-5016 during library hours.

 

Planning a veggie and flower garden?

Free program Tuesday at the library offers some tips

Laurie Laird of New Leaf Landcape Garden Center, 0395 State Route 235, Ada, presents a program on spring vegetable and flower garden planning at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, in the lower level of the Bluffton Public Library.

The program is sponsored by the Gardeners of the Bluffton-Pandora Area and is free and open to the publicl

Library's monthly book discussion club: "The Stranger in the Woods"

Group meets author via Skype on April 3

Bluffton Public Library has a monthly adult book discussion group; April’s focus is “The Stranger in the Woods: The Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit" by Michael Finkel. In addition to the discussion, the group will meet with the author, via Skype. 

The book discussion, open to the public, is at noon, Wednesday, April 3, in the library. The monthly discussion group is open to new members and registration is suggested. The group meets the first Wednesday of every month, and occasionally has the author visit via Skype.
