Deborah A. Herr worked for ODOT

Deborah "Debb" A. Herr, 68, passed away August 10, 2023 at her residence. Debb was born September 24, 1954 in Bluffton to the late Millard and Julia (Burns) Herr. 

Debb was a 1972 graduate of Bluffton High School and attended Bluffton College. She worked for ODOT for over 36 years where she had been a union steward. Debb was a talented cellist for the Lima Symphony Orchestra for many years and also taught private lessons for cello. She was passionate about music and assisted with the Bluffton Schools music programs. Debb was a poll worker for the Allen County Board of Elections and enjoyed watching NFL football, especially the Baltimore Ravens.

Richard E. Huss was a dentist

BLUFFTON--Richard E. Huss, 90, passed away August 2, 2023 at his residence. Richard was born August 27, 1932 in Pemberville, Ohio to the late Frederick and Ethel (Goodman) Huss. On December 20, 1952 he married Betty Strayer Huss who preceded him in death on August 28, 2020. 

Richard received his bachelor's degree from Capital University and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Ohio State University. He practiced dentistry for many years in cooperation with Howard Shelly M.D. in Bluffton. Richard always loved taking care of his property and being outdoors.

Margaret “Peggy” J. Hursey worked for the Columbus Grove Fraternal Order of the Eagles

Margaret “Peggy” J. Hursey, 94, passed away August 1, 2023, at 2:54 p.m, at Putnam Heritage Assisted Living.

Margaret was born July 11, 1929 in Bluffton, to Frederic and Eva (Wiess) Martin who preceded her in death. On December 18, 1949 she married Robert Hursey who preceded her in death on January 2, 2006.

James R. Kiene worked at Lima Ford Engine Company

James Reno Kiene, 93, passed away July 27, 2023 at The Meadows of Ottawa. Jim was born July 1, 1930 in Pandora to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Stechshulte) Kiene. On July 1, 1950 he married the love of his life, Catheryn (Diller) Kiene who preceded him in death on February 2, 2008.

Obituary for Helen Lim Pannabecker

Helen Lim Pannabecker passed away on May 29, 2023 in Tucson, Arizona after a two and one-half year battle with ovarian cancer. She is survived by her husband Thomas Pannabecker and daughter Kendra Pannabecker, and by several siblings and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Samarinda, Borneo to Chong An Lim and Wat Koey Kwee. Helen was the second youngest of six children: Pao Lim (Woodland Hills), Mei Lian Lim (deceased), Nancy Koerniawidjaja (deceased), Jane Budidharma (Toronto) and Rose Lim (St. Louis). She grew up primarily in the city of Malang on the island of Java, Indonesia. In later years the family moved to Jakarta.

Obituary for Mark A. Kohli

Mark A. Kohli, 62, passed away July 23, 2023, at his home.

Mark was born June 24, 1961 in Bluffton, to Francis and Doris (Martz) Kohli who preceded him in death. On June 24, 1995 he married Carol (Gagnon) Kohli who survives.
