10 cyclists completed 112 miles

"Despite the record high temperatures, 10 cyclists completed the 112-mile Triplett Challenge during the 5th Annual Ride to Remember on Saturday, July 20.

Birthday open house for Ellen Beach Aug. 11

Long-time Bluffton resident, Ellen Beach, will celebrate her birthday with an open house planned by her family. The event is from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 11, at 700 Maple Crest Court, Bluffton.

3 Bluffton youth attend National Youth Leadership Forum

Adelyn hopes to go into forensics, Ethan wants to be a scientist and develop medicine and Kennedy would like to be an astronaut

This summer, three Bluffton youngsters received a head-start on their careers.

Adelyn Althaus, Kennedy Longworth and Ethan Smith joined other outstanding elementary students from across Ohio to participate in a unique academic and career-oriented development experience at Bowling Green State University.

The experience was the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Pathways to STEM.

Adelyn is the daughter of Andy and Danielle Althaus, Kennedy is the daughter of Kurt and Sabrina Longworth, and Ethan is son of Joe and Liz Smith, all of Bluffton.

Ada photographer creates 10-set series

FROM ADA ICON - If the New Mexico landscape was an inspiration to artist Georgia O’Keeffe in the 1920s, decades later it may have also been a visual training ground for Ada photographer Karen Ward.

Arriving in Ada nearly 30 years ago from Las Cruces, New Mexico, Ward fell in love with “the charm of the yesteryear vintage of this small village.”  She’s been photographing Ada ever since.
