During August Bluffton police responded to four domestic violence reports, used its K-9 unit on four searches and made five illegal narcotic discoveries. And, in one report, a person faces nine charges in Lima Municipal Court.
August 1
A Columbus Grove resident reported someone stole his identity to open an account at a local store.
August 2
A Spring Street resident reported an unknown person(s) entered her unattended vehicle and stole her purse from inside.
Bluffton residents Joel and Teri Steinmetz and two of their children received injuries from a two-vehicle accident Sunday, at the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Bentley Road, according to the Lima Post of the State Highway Patrol.
In addition, the driver of the second vehicle, Monica L. Nostrum, 44, of Bellaire, Michigan, received injuries.
Bluffton police report that on Aug. 24, Jonathon Lamb, 37, Bluffton, was sentenced to 18 years in prison during a sentencing hearing in the Hancock County Common Pleas Court.
Mr. Lamb plead guilty to two charges of rape in June of 2018 and a pre-sentence investigation followed. Mr. Lamb was sentenced to nine years on each count and those sentences will be served consecutively.

Officers responded to the 400 block of Cherry Street in reference to a civil complaint.
Officers arrested a Marysville, Ohio, resident for possession of illegal narcotics following a traffic stop in the 300 block of North Main Street. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

Officers arrested Corey J. Thayer, 21, Beaverdam, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of Interstate 75 and Bentley Road. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
Bluffton police investigated a beer truck spill on Thurday morning between Bluffton Marathon and Lu Lu's. The driver of the truck apparently back up further than expected. The truck spilled dozens of beer cans into the hill between the two businesses.
