$7,500 in prize money offered in 2020 business plan competition

Previous business plan winners lead BCE discussion Nov. 19

Community Assistance Program invites persons to "adopt a family"

The Bluffton Community Assistance Program is busy this time of year.

Jami Crawfis, who directs the program's food pantry, provided the following details for persons, groups and organizations interested in adopting a family, an individual  or interested in providing donations this holiday season.

Crawfis said that there are over 60 families receiving assistance.

Republic will finish Bluffton refuse route on Thursday

Due to truck issues Republic was unable to complete its regular Wednesday refuse pick up in Bluffton. The route will be completed on Thursday, according to Scott Dunnigan of Republic.

4th-year apprentices recognized at GROB

Thursday program signifies apprentices qualify as journey person Industrial Machinist System Technician

In honor of National Apprenticeship Week, Rhodes State College, together with its partner GROB Systems, Inc., Bluffton, is recognizing 4th year apprentices at GROB at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 14.

The apprentices have completed the required on-the-job training hours to be qualified as a journeyperson Industrial Machinist System Technician. 

Certificates of Completion of their Apprenticeship are issued by the Ohio State Apprenticeship Council and will be presented Thursday.

Planning commission gets Parkview development phase II update

Also discusses zoning options in Jefferson Street neighborhood

Bluffton’s village planning commission, meeting Nov. 4, discussed phase II of the Parkview subdivision and also zoning along Jefferson Street between the railroad and county line.

Members of the planning commission are Mayor Richard Johnson, Bob Amstutz, Roger Edwards and Dick Ramseyer. Also attending were Jesse Blackburn, village administrator, and Mitch Kingsley, council representative.
