Palliative care and hospice symposium Oct. 30

St. Rita’s Medical Center will host The 2019 Palliative Care and Hospice Symposium, focusing on presentations and discussion on palliative and hospice care and dispelling the myths that surround these services.

The event is  Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the UNOH Event Center,  450 N Cable Road, Lima. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m., with  presentations take place from  7:45 a.m. to  4 p.m.

Mercy Health adds urological specialists

Urology team will soon offer outreach in Bluffton

Mercy Health has announced the expansion and enhanced access to urology care in the Lima region with the addition of new urological specialists at St. Rita’s Medical Center.  

Bradley Buck, MD, Daniel Murtagh, MD; Omar Khan, MD, and Hesham Mostafa, MD; have partnered with Ignacio Sarmina, MD, and the team at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Urology.

Third quarter building permits total nearly $850,000

Permits reached $2.3 million in first nine months of 2019

Village of Bluffton building permits totaled nearly $850,000 in the third quarter of 2019, according to the village office.

Twenty-four permits were issued from July 1 through Sept. 30, which included five commercial and the rest residential. The largest two permits in the third quarter were houses, listed at $293,000 and $290,000.

Total Bluffton building permits for 2019 have reached $2.3 million. The chart below lists all permits filed this year.

Collecting care package items for deployed service men and women

LIST OF SUGGESTED ITEMS TO DONATE IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY -

For the sixth year, Bluffton Child Development Center will participate in the Blaze of Lights parade and invites public participation.

"This holiday season, we will be collecting items to send care packages for the deployed men and women overseas," said Francine Donathan, Center director.

"We will be walking through the parade with shopping carts to collect donations. Items can also be dropped off at 325 County Line Road, Bluffton, Ohio 45817 by Tuesday, Dec. 3," she said.
