Interstate 75 northbound entrance ramp at state Route 103, Bluffton, will close on Thursday, Oct. 17, for approximately one day for maintenance. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 235 and back to Interstate 75.

The Bluffton Police Department has received several calls over the last few weeks from concerned residents regarding phone calls they are receiving that may be scams.
The department issued the following statement to the Icon:
The police department would like to remind you that if you receive a call that is asking for any personal information or banking information over the phone, to not give out that information.
TOPS/KOPS meets Tuesdays at St. John's UCC, new members invited

Members of a weight loss group that meets once a week in Bluffton, says that their success is undeniable.
They meet at 6 p.m., Tuesdaya, using the south entrance to the basement of St. John’s United Church of Christ, 223 W. College Ave., with an attendance averaging between 12 and 15. The group is TOPS, which means “Take Off Pounds Sensibly.”
The nationwide organization was founded by 1948. In 2018, the Bluffton chapter as a whole lost 213 pounds. In 2019, to date has accumulated a loss of 195 pounds.

"Twas the night before Christmas" is the theme of the 2019 Bluffton Blaze of Lights, according to Paula Scott, CEO of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce.
The theme will be carried by downtown store decorations and by floats in this year's Blaze parade. The Blaze takes place Saturday, Nov. 30.
The parade line up is at 4 p.m. on Snider Road near the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool. Junior Weihrauch, Arlington, is the parade director. The deadline for applications accepted for the parade is Saturday, Nov. 16.

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1, in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) seeks public comments regarding two proposed projects in the Icon viewership area.
Beaverdam sidewalks – ODOT, in partnership with the village of Beaverdam, is proposing to construct ADA compliant sidewalks and curb ramps within the village of Beaverdam.
Sidewalks will be installed in various locations along East Main Street, West Street, East Pearl Street, Mill Street, Prospect Street, and Lima Street.
