COLUMBUS GROVE - The visiting Bluffton girls volleyball team lost to Columbus Grove in a tough four-set Northwest Conference volleyball match Tuesday night.
Bluffton's record dropped to 11-6 overall and 3-4 in the NWC with the close defeat. The Pirates won the second set to tie the match 1-1, but then lost the final two games.

MIDDLE POINT - The visiting Bluffton boys soccer team swamped Lincolnview 7-1 Monday night in Northwest Conference play to clinch at least a tie for the league crown.
Bluffton improved to 12-0-1 and 4-0 in the NWC with the victory. The Lancers dropped to 2-7-4 and 1-4 in the NWC with the loss.

KALIDA - The Bluffton cross country teams competed at the Kalida Wildcat Invitational Saturday morning. The boys' varsity team came in 7th out of 23 teams with a score of 198.

KALIDA - The visiting Bluffton girls soccer team shut out Kalida 2-0 in a non-league game late Saturday morning.
Streaking Bluffton improved to 10-2-1 overall with their ninth consecutive win. Kalida fell to 6-6 with the defeat.
The match was scoreless in the first half.
Pirate Sami Scoles then struck for the game's first goal in the 61st minute. Clara Matthews followed with the second goal seven minutes later to put the game out of reach.

PAULDING - Visiting Bluffton scored in the final minute to squeak past Paulding 27-24 in the final game of a shortened, unprecedented Northwest Conference season Friday night.
Speedy senior Tyson Shutler ripped off a 48-yard touchdown run with 25 seconds left in the game to bring the Pirates back from a 24-19 deficit to a 25-24 lead.
Pirate quarterback Nate Schaadt ran in the two-point conversion to provide the final margin as the Pirates held on for the win.
