Pirate basketball 2-0 on Saturday

Girls' beat Miller City; boys stop Riverdale

Bluffton girls’ and boys’ basketball teams won on Saturday.

It was the girls’ winning 57-41 over Miller City. Three Pirates in double figures led by Averey Rumer with 14, Katie Prater 13 and Alivia Koenig 10. Libby Schaadt added 9.

Meanwhile the boys’ defeated 55 – 38. Jared Piercefield and Mason Soper with 16 each and Luke Denecker scored 15. Pirates now 13-6 on the year.

Girls' basketball: It's BHS over LCC on Senior Night

From www.blufftonpirates.com - Bluffton HS's four seniors win on Senior Night 45-26 over Lima Central Catholic. Alivia Koenig led BHS with 18 and Averey Rumer added 14.

BHS girls face PG in sectional opener

Bluffton High School girls' basketball team will face Pandora-Gilboa in the opening round of the sectional tourney. The game is at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Allen East.

(BLUFFTON) – Luke Denecker erupted for 19 second half points in a 65-50 boys basketball triumph over McComb Tuesday night.  Mason Soper notched a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Jared Piercefield was the third Pirate in double figures with 12 points. Bluffton improved to 12-4 on the season while McComb fell to 4-8.

Jeremy Sturgeon, Bluffton High School sophomore, with cradle for pin at Lima Central Catholic Wrestling Invitational. He finished in 6th place in the 120-weight class with 2 pins, 1 loss by pin, 1 loss by injury, 1 loss by forfeit to injury in championship round.
