There’s no quit in this Pirate baseball team. Coming into Monday’s matchup with LCC, Bluffton had dropped their prior five contests. The Thunderbirds posted 13 runs in the second inning and BHS could have folded and went through the motions but they did not. Bluffton clawed their way back over the next four innings and cut the lead to 13-11 heading into the sixth inning. LCC was able to score five final runs in the seventh to nab a wild 18-11 victory.

For the fourth straight contest, Bluffton’s softball team only needed five innings to get the job done. BHS drilled LCC Monday night 13-0 to win their sixth straight game overall and improve to 12-4 on the season.
Libby Schaadt pitched five innings of two hit ball for the shutout victory. The sophomore struck out ten and walked none as she improved to 11-4 as a starting pitcher.

Leading 3-1 in the top of the sixth, Katie Prater belted a three run double to blow open the game and Bluffton went on to defeat Allen East 6-2 Thursday evening under sunny skies.
Prater picked up three hits on the night including two doubles and she knocked in a total of four runs. It was the second straight conference win for Bluffton who is now 8-4 overall and 3-3 in NWC play.
