Emmanuel UCC ice cream social Aug. 3

Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 8375 Phillips Road, Bluffton, will hold an ice cream social from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3.

There will be shredded chicken or sloppy joe sandwiches, chicken noodles, baked beans, salads, pies, cakes, and Dietsch ice cream. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under.

Community VBS at First United Methodist July 22-26

First United Methodist is the host church of this year’s Community Vacation Bible School held Sunday through Thursday, July 22-26.  VBS time is from 6 to 8 p.m. and it is open to youth from age 4 through fifth grade.

The VBS theme “Game On!” focuses on gearing up for life’s big game from 2 Peter 1:3. First United Methodist is located at 116 Church St., across from the Bluffton elementary.

Emmanuel UCC offers root beer float at the pool on Monday

Emmanuel United Church of Christ will offer root beer floats at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool next week.

Floats, at $3 each, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for $1 each, will be available from noon to 3 p.m., Monday, July 16.

Proceeds from sales go to the congregation's Faith Formation program.

Polished to the max - County Line Church of Brethren car show

FROM ADA ICON - Cars were polished to the max at the 12th annual car show held on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the County Line Church of the Brethren.

Car owners were glad to talk about their “beauties” and relate some history of their cars. There was music and a chicken BBQ, as well. The youngsters enjoyed a bounce house and the Church’s playground equipment.

Bluffton Presbyterian holds outdoor worship on Sunday

Service features Liturgical dance and a jazz trio

Bluffton Presbyterian Church invites the communit to an outdoor worship service Sunday, July 15, at 9 a.m. on the front lawn of the church, located at 112 N. Main St.

The service will feature a liturgical dance and a jazz trio. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. In case of rain, the service will be moved indoors, according to Rev. Karol Farris, pastor.

Trinity Lutheran play dates set for summer

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, is hosting summer play dates at the Jenera Community Park, south of the village on State Route 698.

The play dates are the first and third Mondays of July and August beginning at 9:30 a.m. Dates are:
• July 2
• July 16
• Aug. 6
• Aug. 20

Parents, Grandparents and caregivers may bring children of any age to enjoy playing outside with other children while the adults visit.
