$7,500 in prize money offered in 2020 business plan competition

Previous business plan winners lead BCE discussion Nov. 19

A brown bag discussion, free and open to the public, is from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, on the third floor of Bluffton town hall, 154 N. Main St. BCE will provide dessert. RSVP to [email protected] or (567) 525-6667.

The Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs (BCE) is asking three former competitors “Why enter the business plan competition?” at a 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, brown bag discussion at Bluffton town hall.

Community Assistance Program invites persons to "adopt a family"

The Bluffton Community Assistance Program is busy this time of year.

Jami Crawfis, who directs the program's food pantry, provided the following details for persons, groups and organizations interested in adopting a family, an individual  or interested in providing donations this holiday season.

Crawfis said that there are over 60 families receiving assistance.

Scott Edwards organ recital Friday afternoon

Scott Edwards will perform an organ recital open to the public at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15, at English Lutheran Church, 111 Grove St., Bluffton. The recital includes a hymn sing hosted by the church and Maple Crest. Click here for more information about the recital.

Scott Edwards will perform an organ recital open to the public at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15, at English Lutheran Church, 111 Grove St., Bluffton. The recital also includes a hymn sing. The program is hosted by the church and Maple Crest.

The recital includes solo organ works, hymns with audience participation and a reception following the program.

Edwards is organist at English Lutheran Church and First United Methodist Church.

Four Bluffton boys soccer players honored

DEFIANCE - The Bluffton boys soccer team had four players receive All-Northwest district Div. III honors recently in voting conducted by area coaches.

• Senior Matt Daws and junior Jonathan Schriner were each named first team all-district.
• Pirate junior Simon Derstine was voted second team all-district.
• Sophomore Jude Spallinger was voted honorable mention all-district.

Last-minute spots open on some BFR winter leagues

As the first session of winter indoor leagues is about to begin, Bluffton Family Recreation has some room of some last-minute entries, according to Amy Byers, BFR sports coordinator.

"We still have room for a team in the Friday evening U8 soccer division. We also have room for a 3rd and 4th grade team in the Saturday flag football division," she said.

"We also have openings for individuals on the U12 indoor soccer House team and the 3rd and 4th grade flag football house team."
