Opal Webb 1925 - 2021

Opal Webb, 95, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at 2:20 a.m. at the Lost Creek Care Center, Lima.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1925, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to the late Merda B. and Dora (Adams) Williams. On Sept. 18, 1942 Opal married Charles H. Webb and he preceded her in death on March 14, 1976.

Russell Ludwig was a retired machinist at Ex-Cell-O

He was a Cory-Rawson HS graduate

Russell E. Ludwig, 84, died Jan. 21, 2021, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.  Russell was born Feb. 8, 1936, in Rawson to the late Paul and Vera (Painter) Ludwig. On Jan. 4, 1955, he married Mary Ellen Burkholder and she survives. 

Russell graduated from Cory-Rawson High School. He worked at and retired from Ex-Cello Corporation in Bluffton where he had been a machinist. Russell enjoyed working with wood doing crafts.

Joyce Long 1940 - 2021

Joyce A. Long, 80, died on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at 4:15 p.m. at Vancrest of Ada.

She was born on June 14, 1940, in Lima, Ohio, to Irvin and Edna (Hassan) Vandemark who preceded her in death. On Nov. 12, 1960 she married Edison D. Long and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2013. 

Joyce was a homemaker. 

Surviving are two sons: Edward (Rose) Long of Radnor and Donald (Ranea) Long of Bluffton; a daughter, Cindy Sweigart of Beaverdam; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren;  

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Lee Williams, Jr.

Peter Badertscher, a skilled cabinet maker and carpenter, was born Sept. 29, 1805, to Christian (1720-1838) and Barbara Gerber (1784-1855) in Bagischwand Emmenthal, Canton Bern, Switzerland. Peter had another brother, John, who remained in Switzerland with his parents.
