Free Art Space at the library for teens

Bluffton Public Library is supplying free art supplies and space for 6th-12th graders to come and be creative in the Youth Room from 1-3 p.m. today. Free Art Space will occur again on Thursdays, June 27 and July 11 from 1-3 p.m.

Summer play dates at Jenera park

First and third Mondays of June, July and August

Summer Park play dates will be held on the first and third Mondays of June, July and August at the Jenera Community Park Playground at 9:30 am.  

According to planners of the events, persons may come when you can and stay as long as you are able.  Bring your kids and grandkids of all ages and enjoy time to play outside and enjoy the summer weather.  

The kids can play with others, run around and burn off some energy while the moms, grandmas, and caregivers visit.

BCE reunion at Golf Club on June 20

Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs (BCE) will hold a reunion later this month to celebrate its more than 10 years in business, according to Paula Scott, director.

"Help us celebrate more than 10 years of business incubation and share your ideas for the next 10 years," she said. "Join us for A BCE reunion at the Mason Jar at Bluffton Golf Club, from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, June 20.

"We are reaching out to clients, donors, supporters, and participants in our Business Plan and Big Idea competitions, and will be sharing their updates with the community," said Scott.

Josh Unterbrink talks with Bluffton Lions

Josh Unterbrink, co-director of Activate Allen County (right) talked about the Bluffton Pathway Project dfuring a recent Bluffton Lions meeting.

Recognition certificates and T-shirts were given to volunteers who participated in the pathway pedestrian count starting May 13 to 17.

Police urge residents to sign up for Nixle alerts

Bluffton police encourage Bluffton residents to sign up for Nixle safety alerts that are sent by the Bluffton police via text and e-mails.

The Icon uses these alerts to notify viewers of a range of announcements from road closings, potential storms, and other public safety information.
