Forever blowing bubbles

Sarah Gillen creates multiple bubbles on the Presbyterian Church lawn during last Saturday's arts and crafts festival. The church provide activities for youngsters during the event.

BHS Maddie Willis second in NWC softball balloting

In voting by Northwest Conference softball coaches for the 2015 softball season senior Hope Schroeder, a pitcher from Columbus Grove, was named Player of the Year after being runner-up for that honor during the 2014 season.  

Schroeder received first-place votes from 7 of the conference coaches.  Coaches may not vote for players from their own schools. 

Bluffton senior Maddie Willis finished second in the balloting with Allen East sophomore Ariana Schmiedebusch finishing third.

Austin Bricker, Dakota Bricker and James Harrod BHS baseball all-NWC

Bluffton High School baseball players Austin Bricker and Dakota Bricker were named to the second-team all-NWC in baseball. James Harrod was named honorable mention.

In voting by Northwest Conference baseball coaches for the 2015 baseball season. senior Nate Owens, a catcher from Crestview was named Player of the Year.  Owens was a unanimous selection receiving 160 out of a possible 160 points in the balloting.

Four area students on ONU dean's list

Four area students were named to the ONU spring dean's list. They are:

Matthew Deter, son of Bill  and Joan Deter, 116 S Lawn Ave, Bluffton, a junior majoring in marketing.

Lauren Hector, daughter of D. Keith and Rhonda Hector, 111 Township Road 20, Mount Cory, a senior majoring in graphic design.

Austin Marquart, son of Jed and Teresa Marquart, 9400 Columbus Grove Road, Bluffton,  a sixth year majoring in pharmacy.

C-R November event inviting crafters

The third annual Cory-Rawson cheerleading holiday craft show and bake sale is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, at Cory-Rawson High School.
