All Bluffton Icon News

Start the summer by attending a carnival-style event hosted by BFR Sports & Fitness on Monday, June 2, from 6-8 p.m.

Activities for families with young children will include face painting, Minute-to-Win-It challenges, Twister, three-legged race, sack race, wheelbarrow race and two special triathalon events for youth. Parachute activities will be included at the end of event. Parents and children can “get active” together at this event. Tickets (50 cents each) will be required to participate in the races and contests.

The Icon spotted Bluffton's Bambi, a new-born fawn and perhaps Bluffton's newest birth, over the weekend. We'll keep the location a secret, but will share with viewers that Bambi is safe with its mother. We welcome Icon viewers' sightings of Bambi and we'll keep the location confidential.

The Icon anticipates the resignation of Dennis Gallant, Bluffton mayor, during tonight's (June 2) council meeting. Watch the Icon tonight for how the mayoral succession and selection process for a potential vacant council seat takes place.

In the meantime, Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator, provides an update on several village issues. His report follows:

That's not Riley Creek. That's a real flash flood in a field on Pevee Road. Steve Stratton took this photo during Wednesday's rain. More photos are below.
