Can~Ac^a'not^a"ct you just taste the strawberries, the jams, the rolls, and smell the flowers? The eighth season of Bluffton~Ac^a'not^a"cs popular farmer~Ac^a'not^a"cs market prepares for opening day, Saturday, May 1, according to Peter Previte, unofficial chair of this favorite Bluffton pastime.

This year~Ac^a'not^a"cs market will take place in its familiar location ~Ac^a'not^aEURoe the parking lot between Citizens National Bank and the post office. The market opens at 8:30 a.m. and runs until noon, no matter the weather conditions, from May 1 to the final Saturday in October.

A bikepath and walkway completely encircling Bluffton? Maybe. Eventually. The Bluffton council official launched a Pathway Steering Committee focus on that reality on April 28. The group will begin to meet and discuss the long-term plans and logistics of constructing a bike and pedestrian pathway throughout and around the village of Bluffton.

The Blanchard River Watershed Partnership's May meeting will be held in Bluffton, according to Nancy Benroth, member of the partnership and assistant village administrator.

The meeting is at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, in the Community Room of the town hall (third floor). According to Benroth, "The Partnership is gearing up to monitor the Riley Creek. Volunteers are desperately needed to assist in this project."

Roger L. Basinger, 77, of Pandora, Ohio, died at 5:45 a.m., April 27, 2010, at St. Rita~Ac^a'not^a"cs Medical Center Lima.

He was born March 2, 1933, in Pandora to Alvan and Mary Lora Basinger, On Dec. 18, 1960, he married Jan Herr and she survives.

Mr. Basinger retired from CSX Railroad after 43 years. He was a member of the Rufus Putnam Masonic Lodge 364, Columbus Grove, Moose Lodge 199, Lima, and Elks Lodge 75, Findlay. He was a 1951 graduate of Pandora High School.

Ebenezer Mennonite Church children's choir, Disciple Singers, will present a spring musical "GPS (God's Plan of Salvation)" Sunday, May 2, at 7 p.m. at the church. The story is about a girl named Ariel and her friends as Ariel takes her driver's license test on the Holy Highway. She learns a few lessons the hard way and perseveres and learns that with Jesus Christ in her life, the road of obedience leads to the throne of God.

April is Community Banking Month, and members of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) and Citizens National Bank are celebrating the role that community banks play in the economic, civic and cultural life of their communities in cities and towns throughout America.

Celebrating its 90th year as a community bank, Citizens National Bank has coincided its celebration with Community Banking Month. In honor of this milestone, each Citizens National Bank office will be serving birthday cake on Friday, April 30, during normal business hours to its customers.
