The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently announced the spring honorees of the HCAC All-Academic awards for the 2013-14 school year. Bluffton University had 14 spring athletes recognized for their efforts in the classroom.

The Bluffton Stars U-10 soccer team was undefeated this season and took 1st place at the Riverdale Spring Classic.

Thanks to those who purchased books and those who donated books. All money earned goes to support library programs and needs. We are always glad to receive current books (published in 2000 or later). Thanks again, Bluffton.

The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free community meal on Wednesday, May 28 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora

The meal this month is provided by the missions committee. The menu will be sub sandwiches, chips, potato salad, dessert and beverage.

The Lima Rotary Foundation presented its quarterly grants to two non-profit agencies on  May 19 at  noon during the weekly Rotary Club meeting, held in the North Hall of the Civic Center at 7 Town Square.

Lima-Allen County Young Life is receiving $500 to provide scholarships for students to go to summer camp. 

High Octane Drum Line is receiving $1,500 to purchase instruments, uniforms and supplies.

Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad (MESA) is receiving $5,000 to collect medical equipment and supplies and ship them to partner Rotary Clubs around the world.

Bluffton High School girls' track standout Hannah Chappell-Dick, a runner at Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Va., officially qualifies for the NCAA National Track & Field Championships in the 800 meter.

Her time of 2:11.89 has her 10th in the nation. The national meet is Thursday through Saturday, May 22-24, at Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, Ohio.

Greg’s Pharmacy, 126 N. Main St., Bluffton, has a new look today and it’s more than simply a new coat of paint.

“We’ve remodeled the store, adding several new features while continuing the familiar items customers are accustomed to seeing,” Mark BonDurant, of Clark’s Pharmacy, owner of Greg’s, told the Icon on Saturday.

New to Greg’s includes:
• home medical items
• new customer waiting area for prescriptions
• new drop off point for prescriptions
• new checkout area

Bluffton council will meet in the town hall tonight (May 19), during its regular meeting, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator. The meeting will take place in the third floor meeting room instead of the large meeting room.

Bluffton school board will act on approving the 2014 Bluffton High School graduation list during its May meeting on Monday.
