This year's Bluffton Area Relay for Hope silent auction provides dozens of bidding opportunities for visitors and relay participants.

The silent acution is from 6 to10 p.m. in the Bluffton Family Recreation gym, 215 Snider Road. It takes place during the Relay, which this year is held at BFR.

The winner bidders do not need to be present at the close of the auction.

Spectrum Salon, 442 N. Main St., Bluffton, celebrates its first anniversary in business with an open house on Wednesday, June 10, according to Mandy Kinn, owner.

"We want to thank all our customers for their suppport in the past year," said Kinn. "The Wednesday open house offers snacks, drawings for prizes and an opportunity for everyone to see what we offer."

New Leaf Garden Center, 0395 State Route 235 Ada, has some great gardening gifts for 'Green Thumb Dads' on Father's Day.

These range from gift certificates to fruit trees, garden tools, berry plants, OSU and Michigan items, bird houses, bird baths and feeders, to trees, shrubs and rose bushes.

Dancers' Elite dance recital is at 7 p.m., Saturday, (doors open at 6 p.m.) and 2 p.m. Sunday, (doors open at 1 p.m.) at the Bluffton middle school. Tickets are $7 at the door.

Deb Garlock can’t get off the dance floor. That’s because she took her own advice and followed her dancing dreams.

For the 35th dance season, young dancers, directed by Garlock’s Dancers’ Elite Studio, will close their year’s classes with a “Follow Your Dreams” dance program this weekend.

The new phrase at Common Grounds is “break an egg.”

Actually two eggs.

This month the Main Street coffee shop added omelets to its breakfast fare. These are on the menu every Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings until 11 a.m., according to Phil Zimmerly, owner.

“You can create your own omelet,” said Zimmerly. He explained that customers have lots of choices.

For example: customers may choose any three of the following items for the custom-made omelet:
• Spinach, green peppers, red peppers, red onions, cheddar cheese or feta cheese.

The following area residents recently graduated from Ohio Northern University, Ada.

Lauren Hector, daughter of D. Keith and Rhonda Hector, 111 Tr 20, Mount Cory, Summa Cum Laude from the College of Arts and Sciences, Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design. Hector is a graduate of Cory-Rawson High School.

Tessa Howe, daughter of Jerry and Cindy Howe, 6275 Bentley Rd, Bluffton, College of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in management. Howe is a graduate of Bluffton High School.

Genevieve Elaine (Buhler) Fast, died on May 17, 2015, from complications of pancreatic cancer. She was born in Bluffton, Ohio, on June 1, 1927, and was the oldest of four children born to Leucile and Gerhard Buhler.
