MEDIA RELEASE__On Wednesday, March 18, a special midweek Lent service will begin at 7:00  p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera.

Pastor Kurtis Freimuth of Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler, will be the guest pastor. His sermon, based on Zechariah 8:14-17 is titled "The Truth, the Whole Truth, and Nothing but the Truth."

Hymns are: "Jesus, Refuge of the Weary, He Stood Before the Court and All Praise to Thee, My God This Night."

MEDIA RELEASE__A Spring Fling Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.  at Serenity Spring Senior Living, 200 Powell Drive, Arlington, OH.

Admission is free.

At its March 9 regular meeting, the Village of Bluffton Council advanced budget allocations and employee salary and wage increases for 2026.

Reporting for the Personnel Committee, council member Phill Talavinia presented a 4% increase for full and part-time employees. Also reporting for the Finance Committee, he noted that 2026 budget allocation legislation will need to pass by emergency at the next meeting (March 23).

Sam M. Halcomb,84, passed away March 11, 2026, at St. Rita's Medical Center.

Sam was born April 27, 1941, in Whitesburg, KY, to Finley and Martha Mae (Madden) Halcomb, who preceded him in death. On July 8, 1967, he married Joyce Young Halcomb, who survives.

Sam was a self-employed drywaller by trade and a proud veteran. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and spending time with his family.
