MEDIA RELEASE__The Bluffton Ohio Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 9 at the 1899 Depot (Bluffton Sportsmen's Club). The public is invited to attend the 7:00 p.m. meeting.

Items to be discussed include the Museum Building Campaign, the October 10 Wake the Dead Ride/Dillinger Robbery reenactment, and the September 12 Ohio Open Doors event.

Jerry L. Blosser, 69, of Continental, died at 8:40 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2026, at The Meadows of Kalida.  He was born October 5, 1956, in Bluffton to the late Marlin and Mary Lou (Marquart) Blosser.  On July 25, 1992, he married Elaine Keck and she survives in Continental.

The Bluffton Schools cancelled on Tuesday, September 8, due to a biodigester malfunction causing smoke in the Middle School and Elementary School. 

On the afternoon of Sept. 8, a commercial cleaning company will clean the air, walls and anything else, as needed.

Superintendent Greg Denecker explains that the biodigester is a kind of food composter that was installed some three years ago with support from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys soccer team shut out visiting Ottoville 2-0 in a non-league match on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Steinmetz Field.

The Pirate boys improved to 4-2-1 with the clean-sheet victory.

The Big Green fell to 3-2-1 after the defeat.

Pirate goals were scored by Jaxton Morris and Gavin Amstutz, with Amstutz assisted by Carter Steinmetz. 

Bluffton out-shot the Big Green, 13-5.
