The Bluffton Board of Education met on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. The meeting included monthly business and reports as well as a special presentation by teachers from the elementary school.
FROM BSC NEWSLETTER__The Bluffton Senior Center will hold its Annual Christmas Garage Sale on Friday, October 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, November 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Senior Center member volunteers will set up on Thursday, October 30 at 1 p.m. and clean up on November 1 at 1 p.m., as well as help during the sale itself. Let Tonya know if you can help.
Late afternoon on October 21 provided great rainbow-spotting opportunities. An unusually wide and fat rainbow could be seen east of State Route 235 on my way from Bluffton to Ada. Was I close to the rainbow's end and the mythical pot of gold? It was tempting to skip the Ada Council meeting and go rainbow chasing, but I didn't. CLYDE__The Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost a defensive nailbiter to top seed Woodmore 1-0 in a Div. V Northwest 2 district final match at Clyde on a chilly Thursday evening, October 23.
The fourth-seeded Pirate girls end their season 10-9-1 after the tight defeat.
Top seed Woodmore improved to 18-1-1 with the win.
Wildcat senior ace Kelsey Kaylor netted her 45th goal this season in the 26th minute to put Woodmore on top. It turned out to be the game’s only score.
The Bluffton High School girls soccer team will play on October 23 at 6 p.m. vs. Woodmore in District Finals at Clyde High School: Robert J. Bishop Jr. Stadium, 1015 Race St., Clyde, Ohio.

Douglas R. Edinger, 71, of Stonington, Maine, was born April 28, 1954, in Bluffton, Ohio, to Norman and Dorothy Edinger. He passed away unexpectedly at work on October 16, 2025.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda; daughter Allison; son Andrew (Katie); grandchildren Silas, Jasper, and Jessa; and two brothers, Dennis (Jane) and Don Edinger.
