Krysti’s Music Studio’s first art student is having an art show Friday, May 3, from 1:-2:30 p.m. at Common Grounds, 101 S. Main St., Bluffton. 

Brooklyn is 5 years old and takes piano lessons and art lessons at Krysti's Music Studio. Her art teacher, Tori Watkins, has helped Brooklyn prepare several works of art which will be on display this Friday only.

"Brooklyn has really been enjoying her art lessons and would love for you to stop by anytime between 1 and 2:30 p.m. to check out her artwork and meet the artist," said Krysti Schey, owner of the studio.

 

Seven youth will be confirmed in the Christian faith on Sunday, May 5, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, in the 10:30 a.m. service. 

The Confirmands are: Klaire Alge, Keith Edwards, Dustin Falk, Matthew Freed, Sidney Rinker, Ryan Stuckey and Shawn Weihrauch.  

The Findlay·Hancock County Chamber Agri-Business Committee has awarded seven $500 scholarships to Hancock County students who are planning to, or already pursuing, a career in an agriculturally related field. The scholarships were funded with money raised from the committee’s annual Farmers’ Share Breakfast at Brugeman Lodge at Riverbend and Fresh Whole Hog Sausage Sale.

Bluffton University will offer six summer mathematics workshops—five of them new this year—for teachers of elementary through high school students.

The 25th annual workshops, hosted by adjunct faculty member Duane Bollenbacher, are all three-day sessions, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Each workshop may be taken for 22.5 contact hours of Local Professional Development Committee credit, at a cost of $125, or, on a pass/fail basis, for one semester hour of graduate workshop credit, for $275. Lunches are included; other meals and housing are available.

The Bluffton Lions Club and Bluffton Arby’s work together on Monday, May 6, and Tuesday May 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. to support the Lions’ Scholarship Fund.

Twenty percent of all sales will be donated by Arby’s of Bluffton to the Bluffton Lions’ Club Scholarship Fund during that time period.

Donations will help fund two scholarships from graduating seniors in the Bluffton, Pandora-Gilboa and Cory-Rawson school districts. Members from the Lions club will be present to bus tables and thank the patrons for their support.
