PORT CLINTON – The Bluffton senior tandem of Grady Coonfare and Isaiah Kohli finished fourth in the Northwest District Div. II tennis doubles tournament at Port Clinton on Saturday, May 23.
By virtue of winning two matches on day one of the tournament, the Pirate pair advanced to the district semifinals and qualified for the state tourney next week in Mason.
On Saturday in the semifinals, the duo lost to the eventual district champion doubles team of Tony Palmer and Cooper Remi from Lexington by a 6-0, 6-0 count.
Pirate track excels at Div. IV northwest district meet

FINDLAY__The Bluffton High School girls track and field team finished second and the boys came in a strong fourth at the 14-team Div. IV northwest district meet in Findlay on Wednesday and Friday, May 22.
Sophomore standout Maelee Miller captured first in the girls 400 meters with a time of 58.8 to seize the district title.
Miller also won the 100-meter hurdles (15.22) race by .35.
FROM FACEBOOK—The Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs has announced a new local business promotion, the Explore Bluffton: Small Business Passport.
From June 1 to Labor Day, residents and visitors will be able to shop at participating downtown businesses and collect stamps for their passports. A minimum $10 purchase is required to earn stamps. Those who earn at least 15 of the 20 stamps will be entered for a prize drawing for gift cards. Passports can be picked up at any participating downtown business beginning on June 1, with completed passports turned into the Town Hall by September 7.
