MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton's America 250 organizers want YOU to join in this summer's 4th of July parade: Did you drive your tractor, golf cart or special vehicle to school for the senior parade? We are looking for unique and entertaining units for this 4th of July. Decorate your tractors and golf carts with flags, bunting, lights, streamers, anything red, white and blue and drive them in the parade.

The Bluffton School Board met on Monday, May 18 with President Roni Kaufman conducting the meeting. Among items on the agenda: fund adjustments were made for revenue of $82K over anticipated amounts. Technology Coordinator Courtnee Morris wil begin teaching in the next academic year and Todd Boblitt will serve as Technology Coordinator.

Moral fiber is an idiom used to describe strength or courage that one derives from moral principles or ethical value.  The term is linked to the nineteenth century and was in the 1873 English Oxford Dictionary. It compares human character with the strong threads of material or fiber. The term “a lack of moral fiber” was used officially by the British Royal Air Force in World War II to describe air crews who did not engage in battle due to fear. 

MEDIA RELEASE__From the Bluffton Lions: The Lewis Family McDonald’s fundraiser raised $600 for the All Abilities playground project at Legacy Park.

The board reports: "We are well on our way to reaching our ambitious goal of raising $600,000 for the project. We currently have over $320,000 pledged by 57 local individuals, families and community partners. Over half of the pledges have been made by Bluffton Lions, along with the Lima Host Lions Club and the Kalida Lions Club. 

Marlin Leroy Burkholder, age 89, of Columbus Grove, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 17, 2026. He was born on December 8, 1936, in Bluffton, Ohio to Vernon and Viola Burkholder. 

Marlin was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his love of the Bible, his service to the church, and commitment to family. Marlin graduated from Beaverdam High School in 1954. On August 9, 1957, he married his sweetheart, Kay Miller, and began raising their family together.
