Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, MHCO, Bluffton, celebrated its annual pastor appreciation banquet at Mennonite Memorial Home on Oct. 15. 

This event enables elders to invite their pastor to their home for a meal and fellowship. Seventeen pastors and church staff sat around tables with 30 MMH.

The activities and leadership staff of MHCO served the meal.

Representatives from across the spectrum of Mennonite education gathered at Bluffton University Oct. 16-18 for a conference on the network’s past, present and future.

The weekend event attracted 120 attendees, from elementary schools to colleges and including presidents, scholars, teachers and graduates.

The Bluffton University "Diagnosis and Educational Planning class taught by Tim Byers recently spent an evening with Peter De Meo a new Bluffton resident. 

De Meo, an adult with Cerebral Palsy, recently returning to the area after years in California.

The class heard about his childhood, school issues, traveling with his disability, health related issues, positive and negative teacher issues, developing peer relationships, his career in California, and daily challenges which he has dealt with.

The Village Cultural Affairs Committee needs for help putting up the Ream holiday folk art display on the Bluffton Presbyterian Church lawn.

Tree lights will be hung on Saturday, Nov. 7. The cutout displays go in the yard on Saturday, Nov. 14.

This invitation goes out to businesses, church groups, families and individuals.
