MEDIA RELEASE__The Safe Driving Tips For Mature Drivers Program and CarFit are coming to the Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N. Main, on Monday June 29, from  10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

Safe Driving teaches how to protect yourself and others on the road.

CarFit is a free interactive and educational program designed to improve older driver safety.

Trained volunteers provide information to ensure the safest “fit” for older drivers and their vehicles. There are free coupons and some prizes at this event. 

MEDIA RELEASE__Four youth will be confirmed in the Christian faith on Sunday, May 3, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, in the 10:30 AM service.

The Confirmands are Lindsey Beach, Ida Falck, Maxwell Falck, and Willow Jones.

The Class Verse is Proverbs 30:5: “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” The class flower is the carnation and the class colors are purple and white. The class hymn is "Across the Lands."

MEDIA RELEASE__Calling all patriotic voices! The America 250 in Bluffton Committee is producing a Community Patriotic Music Concert on July 4.  

Participation is open to all vocal parts. Please know how to hold your choral part and have a love of singing lots of red, white and blue music. 

The concert will be held at Bluffton Presbyterian Church on Saturday July 4 at 6:30 p.m., directed by Dan Basinger and accompanied by Sue Van Eman. 

MEDIA RELEASE__The University of Findlay will host Commencement ceremonies for 2026 graduates on Saturday, May 2 with Christine Denecker, Ph.D., vice president of academic affairs, as the keynote speaker for the morning’s graduate ceremony. She oversees five colleges and more than 80 academic programs. 

MEDIA RELEASE__The America 250 in Bluffton, Ohio committee has a Veterans Honor & Remembrance event planned for Memorial Day, May 25. 

Family members of Bluffton veterans can have their loved ones honored on a tree covered with patriotic ribbons. The ribbons will be displayed on a tree in Maple Grove Cemetery from Memorial Day until Labor Day 2026.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys tennis team defeated visiting local rival Ada 4-0 in a rain-shortened match at on Monday, April 27.

The Pirates improved to 7-2-1 after the win. Bluffton won all eight sets and dropped just three games in the dominant victory.

Ada fell to 0-6 with the loss. 

Bluffton senior Grady Coonfare swept Bulldog junior Brandon Prater 6-0, 6-0 at first singles.  

Pirate senior Isaiah Kohli beat Ada junior Lawson Klingler 6-1, 6-0 at second singles.
