I attended the April 18 Colonial Games & Pastimes event at the Bluffton Senior Center, hoping to do a little time travel back to the 18th century. In a nod to America 250 celebrations throughout the country, the plan was to enjoy games that our founding fathers and mothers enjoyed, such as checkers, marbles, pick-up sticks and whist. 

MEDIA RELEASE__The Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on April 19, 2026, at approximately 2:59 A.M. on Interstate 75 near milepost 145 in Union Township.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School baseball team lost 14-3 to visiting non-conference rival Miller City on Friday, April 17.

Bluffton fell to 1-4-1 overall with the home loss.

Miller City improved to 8-2 after the road win.

The Pirates host Fort Jennings (3-4) on Wednesday, April 22. 

Bluffton (1-1 Northwest Conference) then entertains winless league foe Crestview (0-7, 0-3 NWC) on April 23.

 

MEDAI RELEASE__The Bluffton Shuffleboard Club is gearing up for a new season and is looking for players of all ages and skill levels. Play at the courts at Buckeye Park, 400 N Spring St. is scheduled for Mondays at 10 a.m., Thursdays at 4 p.m., Saturdays at 10 a.m. Play will begin April 25, weather permitting. BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School softball team lost 8-2 to visiting non-conference rival Miller City on a hot Friday, April 17.

The Pirates tallied a run in the bottom of the first to take an early 1-0 lead. MC took the lead with two runs in the second, but Bluffton tied it 2-2 with a run in the home third.

The Wildcats then plated three runs in the top of the fourth to seize the lead for good. They added one run in the fifth, and tallied two insurance runs in the sixth to win by six.

MEDIA RELEASE__On April 15, Bishop Daniel E. Thomas of the Catholic Diocese of Toledo announced the appointment of Reverend Kyle T. Gase, from Parochial Vicar of Saint Rose of Lima Parish, Perrysburg, to Pastor of Saint Mary Parish, Bluffton.

This appointment will be effective July 1, 2026.
