Miller takes 3 events, Rehm and Suter win 2

KENTON__The Bluffton High School girls track and field team won a triangular meet hosted by Kenton at Robinson Field on Tuesday, April 21.

The Pirate girls scored 80 points to easily outdistance host Kenton (45) and Marion Harding (44).

Harding won the boys meet with 64 points, just ahead of Kenton (60.5). The Pirate boys scored 50.5 points.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School softball team lost 12-1 to visiting non-conference foe Arcadia on Tuesday, April 21.

The Pirates tallied their lone run in the bottom of the first inning to seize a brief lead. The Redskins plated five runs in the top of the second to take the lead for good.

Arcadia added a run in the fourth, then tallied twice in the fifth. The Blanchard Valley Conference leaders plated four more runs in the sixth frame to extend the margin to 11 and enact the 10-run mercy rule.

Ava Smallcombe is a Bluffton High School senior and a 2026 Lee Volunteer Award winner. 

She will attend the awards banquet on April 22, when she will find out if she is the Youth Winner for this award. She has already donated an initial award to Bluffton’s Leo Club. She is planning to attend college at The Ohio State University main campus.
