Four area seniors received Bluffton Lions Club scholarships this spring.

Recipients are:
Luke Denecker, Bluffton, major in business with emphases in finance and data analytics
Ana Neufeld Weaver, Bluffton, major in music education
Riley Garmatter, Cory-Rawson, major in early childhood education
Brandon Zuercher, Cory-Rawson, major as an animal nutritionist

Here are the area students who graduated this spring from Bluffton University:

Clay Atkins of Bluffton, earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.

Bailey Prichard of Bluffton, earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a TESOL minor.

Several students from Bluffton and Pandora received associate's degrees from Rhodes State College, Lima, this spring. The area students follow:

Donation comes from police department via attorney general's office

Bluffton’s Police Department received $1,500 to donate to the Bluffton schools for safety equipment, according to Ryan Burkholder, police chief.

Police department members Officer Hope Hannah, Lt. Mathew Oglesbee and Chief. Burkholder took an online training course, offered by the Ohio Attorney General Office, to help keep children safe while learning. 

Bluffton University to host golf scramble

Bluffton University’s 23rd annual Alumni and Friends Golf Scramble will be held on Saturday, July 25, at Bluffton Golf Club.

Registration for the event is $90 per golfer or $360 for a complete team of four at www.bluffton.edu/golf by July 18. This year’s event will include on-course games and challenges to enhance team position and a silent auction.
