Barry Allen Archer, 79, died on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at 12:37 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born on Aug. 31, 1939, in Auglaize Township, Ohio,  to Raymond Forest “Buss” and Anna Elizabeth (Binkley) Archer who preceded him in death.  On Sept. 16, 1962 Barry married Suzanne McPheron and she survives in Harrod.

Bluffton Family Recreation announced its holiday hours today. BFR, 215 Snider Road, will be on Monday, Dec. 24, from 8 a.m. to noon. Closed Dec. 35.

BFR will be on Monday, Jan. 31, from 8 a.m. to noon. Closed Jan. 1

Blufton elementary students raised $2,840.84 in this year's elementary Christmas project, according to Christine McCafferty, teacher who assisted.

"We collected change for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Each grade level brought in money to help this special cause," she said.

The students did jobs around the house, asked family members, and used money from their piggy banks to help this special cause. 

"Well, Bob, I sure hope this is the last time you forget the cappuccinos.”

This line submitted by Mitch Kingsley is the winning entry in the ‘write a caption for this photo contest.’  Mitch wins two passes to the Shannon Theatre.
