Scoreboard, Sportswear, 111 N. Main St., is the third place winner in the downtown Bluffton holiday window decorating contest.

Some 40 downtown businesses were invited to decorate and vote in a competition that awards a trophy and bragging rights. The 2018 winners are:
1 - Twisted Whisk Cafe at 101 S. Main
2 - Boutique 415/Polished at 415 N. Main
3 - Scoreboard Sportswear at 111 N. Main.

Chrissy Lugibihl updates chamber members on it relocation plan to the glove factory

“Would I purchase the item that I am donating?”

That’s a question Chrissy Lugibihl, manager of Et Cetera Shop, posed to Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce members during Friday’s chamber breakfast.

The question answered a question from the audience: “How do you decided which donated items are re-sellable and which one are not?”

Sophia Erter, 7, shares her Christmas list with Santa Claus, who visited youth at Twisted Whisk on Saturday. The downtown cafe had face painting and coloring activities for youth in addition to Santa's visit.

25 years of volunteering at Bluffton Hospital and Mennonite Memorial Home

Luther Leroy Shetler of Bluffton died on Dec. 15, 2018. He was born on July 1, 1917, on a dairy farm near Goshen, Indiana, to Alvin P. and Sadie (Yoder) Shetler.  He graduated from Goshen College in 1938 and married Geneva Stamm in Goshen on Dec. 22, 1940.

He received a doctorate in Mathematics Education from Indiana University and came to teach Mathematics at Bluffton College in 1950. 

Coed volleyball, pickelball, coed softball, coed softball tournament

Four indoor sport activities are available for adults starting in January at Bluffton Family Recreation, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Coed Volleyball
First session: Thursdays – Jan. 10-Feb. 14
   Five weeks of play plus a tournament.
Second session: Thursdays – Feb. 21-March 28
   Five weeks of play plus a tournament.
$150 per team. Games on Thursday evenings.

Pickelball
Tuesdays – 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Thursdays – 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 5-7 p.m.
