How many times have you attempted to cross the interstate at the County Line Road overpass, only to discover it is closed? Here's some views of the bridge reconstruction project that has the overpass closed.

Bridge Bereavement Services is offering a “Sew Many Memories” grief support program on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Birchaven Village, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay. The Sept. 27 session will be for planning purposes and the October 6 session will be used for sewing. This program will offer participants the opportunity to turn their loved one’s clothing into a keepsake.

The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free community meal on Wednesday, Aug. 29, from 5:30 to 7: p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora.  The meal this month is provided by the Mission Committee. The menu is sausage gravy, mashed potatoes, buttermilk biscuits, coleslaw, applesauce, assorted cookies, and beverage.

The ball-handling talents of ACE Basketball will be the featured entertainment at the PrimeTimers Luncheon scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 4. The luncheon starts at 12 p.m, at St. John Mennonite Church, 15988 Road 4, Pandora.  There is no charge for the meal, but donations are accepted. 

Hosted by Maple Crest Senior Living Village, the meal includes: Shredded chicken and shredded pork sandwiches, broccoli salad, assorted bagged chips, green beans, fruit salad and ice cream sandwiches. 

Elementary, middle school and high school teachers want to meet students

Bluffton Exempted Village Schools announces a Meet-The-Teacher Event on Thursday, Aug. 23, according to Greg Denecker, superintendent. 

• The elementary school will be open from 5-6 p.m.,
• the middle school from 6-7 p.m., and
• the high school from 7-8 p.m. 

"This is an opportunity for parents and students to meet the teachers. In addition, students can familiarize themselves with the buildings and their schedules to be ready for opening day," said Denecker

A perfect evening for ice cream and music. The Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio ice cream social-concert on the lawn featured Pantasia, steel drum band from Findlay High School. The Sunday evening concert had one of the largest audiences of the annual ice cream event. Here are some photos.
