Bluffton shared the Northwest Conference girls soccer title with Allen East last season with both teams finishing at 6-0-1 in league play.  Spencerville finished second at 5-2. The Pirates and Bearcats squared off to start the 2018 season Saturday afternoon and ended with a 1-1 draw.

After a scoreless first half, Rebekah Hoff found the back of the net off an assist from Kayla White.  The Bearcats also scored in the second half to force the draw.
