Southgate Lanes and Stratton Auto Group have teamed up to make certain that all Bluffton students have school supplies when the 2018-19 school year begins in August.
Derek Dukes of Southgate Lanes and Jesse Owsley of Stratton Auto Group are heading up the drive.
“Our drive starts on June 27 and will continue until the end of July,” said Owsley. “We are collecting supplies to benefit Bluffton Community Assistance Program’s food pantry.”
He added, “ It would be awesome if we could collect enough supplies for every Bluffton student who needs them.”

The Icon talked briefly with Dr. James Harder, retiring Bluffton University president, during his last official full week on campus.
His exit at the end of the month brings to a close a 17-year relationship with the university, 12 of which he served as its president. Those dozen years are an exception to the national average for university presidents. That national on-the-job average for a university president is six years.
