TIFFIN, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team fell to #4 Wittenberg on the opening night of the No One Fights Alone Invitational at Heidelberg University. Bluffton stands 4-2, while the Tigers stayed perfect at 4-0.
The Beavers led 5-4 in the first before Wittenberg took control with a 6-1 spurt for the 10-6 lead. The Tigers never looked back, dispatching Bluffton in three quick sets (25-15, 25-14, 25-11).
Erika Byler, a Bluffton University senior communication major from Shipshewana, Ind., found her calling this summer through the Ministry Inquiry Program. It just wasn’t the calling most participants find during the program, a collaboration between Mennonite Church USA and the Mennonite colleges.
“I wasn’t sure if I was feeling called to the ministry or just to the program, so I decided to try it out,” said Byler. “At this point in my life pastoring is not for me.”
Dr. William Angel, professor emeritus of political science from The Ohio State University at Lima, will discuss “Machiavelli and the Constitution of the United States” at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, in Yoder Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Bluffton Football Moms invite participants to join the Friday, Sept. 22, Bluffton High School homecoming parade.
The parade forms at 5 p.m. at The Centre on North Main Street. The parade starts at 5:30 p.m. and passes through Main Street to Harmon Field on East College Avenue.
"All organizations, businesses and families are invited to participate," said Tracie Bricker. "Please use the Main Street entrance of The Centre for participant drop off and float entries."
Members from The Women’s Center of Bluffton Hospital, including The Pelvic Pain Center, Pain Management, Bluffton Women’s Care and robotic surgery will also be present to answer questions.
Beyond MedSpa located inside the Bluffton Hospital, 139 Garau St., will host an open house on Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
