Robert Antibus leads discussion hosted by Transition Bluffton

Transition Bluffton will host a presentation on invasive plant species at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Bluffton town hall, 154 N. Main St.

Botanist Bob Antibus will talk and take questions about invasive plants in northwest Ohio. The event is free and open to the public.

Invasive plants are non-native species that can threaten our natural resources. Problems caused by invasive plants include crowding out of native Ohio plants, loss of suitable foods for area wildlife, and less plant diversity.

Bluffton Trinity United Methodist Church will host its fourth annual De Colores Dash 5K in the Bluffton village park at 10 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 17.

Following the race there will be live music featuring Matt Deter and friends and fun inflatables including an obstacle course, bounce house, and Bungee Run.

Lunch is included in race registration of $20 per racer. For non-racers lunch is available for a freewill donation.

All proceeds beyond event expenses go to the Bluffton Food Pantry.
