Bluffton's pathway keeps growing
Bluffton’s Lions Way bike and pedestrian pathway will grow significantly following a 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5, ribbon cutting and dedication of the Lions Way Parkview Path.
The ribbon cutting, open to the public, takes place at the pathway recognition sign just off Parkview Drive. Persons can enter Parkview from either Main or Jackson streets.
The Parkview path is a significant piece in the entire pathway project, according to Richard Ramseyer, president of the bike and pedestrian pathway board.
It crosses through the Parkway Development using both sidewalk, street and a designated pathway. The north entrance is at the bend of West Kibler Street. The entire Parkview path meanders through the new housing development and connects to Main Street near the Bluffton Dari Freeze.
This leg of the pathway becomes even more significant when the Bentley Road pathway, slated for summer 2018 construction, will be complete. With the Bentley Road connector in place persons can walk, jog and ride bicycles all the way from Maple Crest and Riverbend Development to the Dari Freeze.
