Bluffton University students hear views from ONU faculty and students

About 75 Bluffton students, faculty and staff attended the event called, “Being Muslim in a world fearful of terrorism: Understanding the teachings of Islam and hearing what it’s like living as a Muslim in America today.”

Joan Anderson, 84, died Feb. 1, 2017, at St. Rita's Hospice Care Center. Joan was born March 24, 1932, in Allen County, Ohio, to the late Guy C. and Mary (Mason) Mayberry.  On March 24, 1951, she married Donald Anderson who survives.

Joan was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church in Bluffton.

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, Bluffton, is accepting applications for the Barbara Fleming Memorial Nursing Scholarship.

The scholarship is meant to promote the career of nursing.  Therefore the scholarship money may be used toward a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse, a degree as a Registered Nurse, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The scholarship is to be used to pay school related expenses toward any of these degrees.

The scholarship offers a minimum award of $500, and will be paid directly to the vocational school or college where the student is enrolled.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women’s basketball team hosted Manchester University on Wednesday, Feb. 1 and took control from the tip as they defeated the Spartans by a convincing 55-34 margin. The win pushed the Beavers to 16-4 overall and 10-3 in the HCAC while Manchester dipped to 7-13 on the season and 6-7 in the Heartland Conference.
