Crafts, food, llamas, music, art all downtown Saturday
Over 60 craft vendors will sell their wares on Main Street Saturday, May 22, for the 39th annual Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce arts and crafts fair.
Because of the larger than usual number of crafters, several booths will be set up on South Main Street from Citizens National Bank to the farmer's market. In addition, crafters will fill the street from the corner of Cherry and Main all the way to the town hall.
This year's show starts at 9 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. In addition to craft booths, there will be several food vendors located on East Elm Street at the town hall.
A student art show will be on display on the Presbyterian Church lawn (in case of rain, it will be in the church) Prizes will be awarded in three age categories.
The Gerkin family Hard Rock Llama Co., will have llamsa on display in front of Ten Thousand Villages. That store, celebrating Fair Trade Month, will also be offering tastes of Middle Eastern food.
Two Blufffton High School music groups will perform near the farmer's market area. The Bluffton High School Jazz Band, directed by Dave Sycks, and the Bluffton High School Show Choir, directed by Kara Gratz, will perform at 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Lots of Luv Animals will have a dog and cat "adoption" display on the Presbyterian lawn. In addition, several Main Street businesses will have sidewalk displays and sales.
Pony rides will be available in front of Citizens National Bank throughout the day. The Bluffton farmer's market will be open from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Citizens National Bank parking lot.
The show is a fund-raiser for the chamber.
