After-school Friday movie first of four Halloween programs at library
Bluffton Public Library will host several Halloween-themed after-school programs this month.
Friday, Oct. 21
The first activity is a spooky film screening on Friday, Oct. 21, at 3:15 p.m. Students and families are encouraged to bring something to sit on, a blanket and/or something to drink. No registration is required for the film.
Wednesday, Oct. 26
Students in grades kindergarten and up are invited to carve or paint a pumpkin on Wednesday, Oct. 26, between 3:10 and 4:30 p.m. All pumpkins, paints and carving supplies will be provided but children may wish to wear older clothing. Registration is requested for this program.
Thursday, Oct. 27
The following day all youth in grades K-12 are invited to shuffle, crawl or lurch to the library for a "Zombie Apocalypse."
"What better way to celebrate the end of world than with Zombie Putt-Putt golf, a Severed Hand Toss and Zombie approved snacks?"
Youth Services Coordinator Rikki Unterbrink said. "Participants may come dressed as a zombie or as a zombie hunter decked out in library-safe weapons of mass decapitation for this moderately disturbing and dismembering program." Please register at the library front desk for this program.
Monday, Oct. 31
Finally, the library will start "Trick-or-Treat" night early on Monday, Oct. 31, at 5:30 p.m. "Make us your first stop on your candy quest and see the Teen Advisory Group all dressed up for an Enchanted Forest. You might see The Big Bad Wolf, Little Red Riding Hood, a tree full of fairies or Zombie Snookie from 'The Jersey Shore,'" Unterbrink said. "Either way it should be fun for everyone."
For more information on any of the October Halloween programs, please inquire at the library, call 419-358-5016 or e-mail Unterbrink at [email protected].
